Yushu, China Earthquake 14 April 2010

A series of strong earthquakes struck a mountainous Tibetan area of western China on April 14, 2010, killing hundreds of people and injuring more than 10,000 as houses made of mud and wood collapsed. Less than 24 hours later, DigitalGlobe’s QuickBird satellite collected this image over Yushu China. The following imagery presentation provides an initial view of the extensive damage seen throughout the area.
